Motivation letter for scholarship: format, content and example lines
A motivation letter for a scholarship tells the selection committee why you want this scholarship, what you will do with it and why you are a good investment. DAAD, for example, asks applicants to cover their experience, goals abroad, why that country, how they will use the qualification at home, and to keep it to no more than two pages without platitudes or flattery.
| Length | One to two pages (DAAD: maximum two) |
|---|---|
| Format | Letter style: date, addressed to the selection committee, signed |
| Must cover | Experience, goals, why this programme and country, use back home |
| Avoid | Repeating your CV, flowery language, flattery |
