Eligibility for Pakistani students

You can apply if you meet the age limit and minimum marks for your level. The first round is automatic: applications below these numbers are rejected before anyone reads them.

Level Age limit Minimum marks Pakistani qualification it usually applies to
Bachelor's (and associate) Under 21 70% Intermediate (FSc, FA, ICS, ICom) or A Levels
Master's Under 30 75% Bachelor's (BS, BSc, BA)
PhD Under 35 75% Master's or MPhil/MS
Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy (any level) As above 90% —
Research scholarship Under 50 — Researchers and academics
  • Final-year students can apply. You are eligible if you will graduate before August of the application year, so 2027 FSc and final-year BS students can apply in January 2027.
  • CGPA: if your transcript shows only a CGPA, attach your university's official percentage equivalence or conversion scale.
  • O/A Level students applying for a bachelor's need the minimum results that their qualification (such as SAT or GCSE) requires.

Who cannot apply: Turkish citizens, people who have lost Turkish citizenship, and students already enrolled at a Turkish university at the level they are applying for.

Required documents

Upload every document to the online system (TBBS) as a clear scan. Prepare them in December so you can apply early in the window.

  • Valid passport or CNIC
  • Photo taken within the last year
  • Diploma or provisional certificate (final-year students: a letter from your school or university)
  • Transcript / detailed marks certificate
  • National exam results, if any (for example, your board result card)
  • International test scores (SAT, GRE, GMAT), only if your chosen programme requires them
  • Language test scores (IELTS, TOEFL), only if your chosen programme requires them
  • PhD only: a research proposal and a sample of research you have written

The online form also asks for a letter of intent and your social and academic activities. These are scored in the expert evaluation, so treat them as part of the application, not a formality. IELTS is needed only if your chosen programme asks for it; every scholar takes a one-year Turkish course first.

How to apply for Türkiye Burslari from Pakistan

You apply once, online, and choose your universities and programmes in the same form. There is no separate admission to apply for.

  1. Create an account on the official portal at turkiyeburslari.gov.tr when the window opens on 10 January.
  2. Fill in your personal, education and activity details, including clubs, volunteering, competitions and work.
  3. Choose your universities and programmes in order of preference. Pick programmes that match your previous study; the committee checks how consistent your choices are.
  4. Write your letter of intent: why this field, why Turkey, and what you will do after graduating.
  5. Upload your documents and submit before 20 February.

Selection process and timeline

Stage When What happens
Applications 10 Jan – 20 Feb Online form and documents
Preliminary assessment March Automatic check of age, marks and documents
Expert evaluation March – April Committee scores your record, letter of intent and activities, and shortlists
Test (bachelor's only) April – June 30 questions of maths, geometry and logic in 60 minutes, in Turkish and English, on the interview day
Interview April – June 15–30 minutes with academics; bring original documents
Results Early August Announced on the portal
Arrival in Turkey September Turkish course starts; degree begins the following year

The interview follows a set order: document check, why you applied, your academic knowledge and career goals, then your questions. Interviews are face-to-face with visiting Turkish delegations; your invitation will say where and when.

Tips for a stronger application

The committee scores three things: academic success, social activities and motivation for your field. Each tip below targets one of them.

  • Keep your choices consistent. A pharmacy graduate choosing pharmacy, public health and biochemistry reads better than one choosing pharmacy, law and architecture.
  • Make the letter of intent specific. Name the field, a problem you want to work on, and how you will use the degree in Pakistan. Avoid copied templates; committees read thousands.
  • List real activities with proof. Debating, volunteering, Olympiads, sports, internships and research all count. Have certificates ready for the interview.
  • Bachelor's applicants: practise the test. It is maths, geometry and logic based on the Turkish curriculum. A mock exam is on the official site.
  • Apply in January, not on 20 February. Late submissions are not accepted, and a last-day problem with a scan or the portal leaves no time to fix it.

Common mistakes

  • Applying while over the age limit or under the minimum marks: the system rejects these automatically.
  • Uploading blurred phone photos of documents.
  • Choosing programmes unrelated to your previous degree without explaining why.

Scam warning: Türkiye Burslari is free. Nobody can sell you a seat, guarantee selection, or apply on your behalf for a fee. Apply only at turkiyeburslari.gov.tr, and check any "agent" offer with our Scam check.
