What the PWWF scholarship covers

PWWF pays your fees and adds a fixed monthly stipend. Under the rules in force from February 2026:

Item What PWWF pays
Fees at public institutions Admission, tuition, registration, exam, library/lab and transport fees, as charged
Fees at private institutions Up to a cap for admissions after 1 September 2025 (e.g. Rs 100,000 a year for intermediate, Rs 200,000 a semester for engineering, Rs 180,000 a semester for business and IT; MBBS/BDS as charged)
Stipend Rs 3,500 a month up to intermediate · Rs 5,000 a month after intermediate
Hostel and mess Rs 10,000 a month if you study outside your home district
Transport (day scholars) Rs 5,000 a month, if the institution is in your home district, the factory's district or a neighbouring district
MS, MPhil, PhD Educational expenses only (merit admissions), no stipend

You get either hostel or transport support, not both. For admissions after 9 January 2025, PWWF repays fees you have paid rather than paying the institution directly, so keep every receipt.

PWWF's own scholarship page still shows older stipend rates (Rs 3,500 / 4,500 / 5,500), so check which applies to you.

PWWF scholarship eligibility

Eligibility depends mainly on the parent's job, not the student's marks.

  • The parent is a "worker" under the Punjab Industrial Relations Act 2010, at a factory registered under the Factories Act 1934 or a mine under the Punjab Mining Concession Rules 2002 (or an establishment paying the Workers Welfare Fund contribution).
  • Registered with PESSI or EOBI, with contributions paid for at least 9 of the last 12 months (2026 rules).
  • Length of service: 1 year for study up to intermediate; 3 years for study after intermediate.
  • The student has a board or university registration number. There is no age limit.
  • Also eligible: children of workers who died in service (after the family receives PWWF's death grant), and of workers disabled in service (certified by a medical board).
  • Unregistered workers can apply with a notarised affidavit, attested by the labour welfare focal person, and two guarantors (the employer and the CBA president or general secretary).

Marks: there is no general minimum. The exception: if a PWWF Higher Secondary School in your city offers your course, you need 80% in matric to study elsewhere.

Not covered: a second degree at the same level, restarting at the same level after dropping out, and five named institutions under court cases (CFE Group of Colleges, Muslim Institute of Computer Science Lahore, Hamza Poly Technical Institute Kasur, Grace College Lahore, Mid-City Lahore).

How to apply for the PWWF Talent Scholarship

  1. Get admission and a registration number from your board or university.
  2. Pay the fee and keep the bank vouchers or online receipts; PWWF repays them.
  3. Sign up at mis.pwwf.punjab.gov.pk with the worker's CNIC (it is checked against PESSI records), and confirm the codes sent to your mobile and email.
  4. Fill in the education form and upload the documents below.
  5. Submit every new result. Each year's or semester's payment is released after you upload the passing result, attested by a gazetted officer.

Apply within one year of the student's registration. PWWF can accept up to six months more with a written reason, but no claim is accepted after the course ends.

Documents

  • CNIC of the worker, and the student's CNIC or B-Form
  • NADRA family registration certificate
  • Worker's PESSI or EOBI card
  • Employment certificate
  • Admission form on PWWF's specimen
  • Paid fee vouchers and registration number
  • Cheque leaf showing the IBAN
  • Affidavit on Rs 100 e-stamp paper

Scan everything before you start the online form.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Check PESSI or EOBI registration first. Most rejections start with missing contributions.
  • Confirm private-institution fees before admission. PWWF pays only up to the cap, and some universities are not on its list.
  • Keep every fee receipt. Repayment depends on them.
  • Upload each result on time. A failed final-year subject stops that year's payment until you pass.

Common reasons for rejection: the parent's employer is not a registered factory or mine, contributions missing for more than 3 of the last 12 months, applying more than a year after registration, or a second degree at the same level.

Scam warning: PWWF does not charge for the scholarship and does not use agents. Apply only at mis.pwwf.punjab.gov.pk and confirm calls on (042) 99260242-255, or check them with our Scam check.
