PEEF scholarship: monthly support for Punjab's talented, low-income students

The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) gives monthly scholarships to students from low-income families who score well in board and university exams, from intermediate to master's. It has made more than 492,000 awards.

Status for 2026-27: PEEF had not announced the new round as of late September 2026. The last Special Quota call opened on 29 September 2025 and closed on 18 November 2025, so a similar autumn window is likely but not confirmed.

Level Monthly amount
Intermediate Rs 2,500
Graduation and professional degrees Rs 5,500
Master's (day scholar) Rs 7,500
Master's (hostel resident) Rs 9,000

PEEF pays through your institution twice a year, after you submit an acknowledgement and a satisfactory academic report.

PEEF scholarship eligibility

You qualify if your family's income is low, your marks are strong, and you study full-time in Punjab.

  • Family income: up to Rs 60,000 a month from all sources, declared on an affidavit. Children of BPS 1–4 employees (when the salary is the only income) and of civilians martyred in terrorist attacks are exempt.
  • Marks: at least 60% in the annual exam; for master's, 60% or a 2.5 CGPA in a 16-year degree.
  • Board: matric or intermediate from a Punjab board, or FBISE if your institution is in Punjab.
  • Admission: full-time admission in the same year as your exam.
  • Domicile: Punjab domicile is required for the master's scheme.
  • One scholarship only: you cannot hold another scholarship in the same academic year.

Not eligible: students who passed through marks improvement, a supplementary exam or grace marks, and (in the 2025-26 advert) TEVTA and PBTE pass-outs. Students from other provinces, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan have separate PEEF quotas.

How to apply for the PEEF scholarship

Outreach

No application. PEEF takes merit data from the Punjab boards and contacts selected students. Keep the phone number and address on your board record correct, and return the form PEEF sends you before its deadline.

Special Quota

  1. Watch for the PEEF Special Quota advert (last year: 29 September – 18 November).
  2. Apply online at student.peef.org.pk.
  3. Upload proof of your category, for example a NADRA death certificate for orphans or a disability certificate from a DHQ/THQ hospital.
  4. If shortlisted, PEEF posts you a form; complete it and send it back with the documents below.

Master's level

  1. Download the master's form and income affidavit from PEEF's website.
  2. Submit them to your university's financial aid office, not to PEEF directly.

Documents usually needed

  • Attested CNIC or B-Form copies (student and father/guardian)
  • Attested result cards
  • Income affidavit on stamp paper
  • Recent utility bill
  • Passport-size photos
  • Category proof (Special Quota only)

Attestation must be by a Grade 17 or higher government officer. Track your status on student.peef.org.pk or call 042-111-11-7333.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Update your contact details with your board so an Outreach letter reaches you.
  • Declare all family income honestly. PEEF checks it, and a false affidavit means losing the scholarship.
  • Keep 60% (or 2.5 CGPA) to continue receiving payments; PEEF asks for an academic report before each instalment.
  • Do not accept a second scholarship in the same year; you would have to give one up.

Common reasons for rejection: income above Rs 60,000, a supplementary or improvement result, missing category proof, or documents attested by an officer below Grade 17.

Scam warning: PEEF never charges a fee and does not call students to ask for money to "release" a scholarship. Confirm any call or SMS on the official helpline 042-111-11-7333, or check it with our Scam check.
