How we verify

Every open scholarship on scholarshipportal.pk was checked against its official source in the last 30 days. Each listing shows when it was checked, who checked it, how, and a link to the source.

The numbers, live

Live numbers appear here once the first listings have been verified.

How a listing is checked

  1. Intake. We find a program from an official announcement, a newspaper advertisement, a provider’s official account, or a reader’s tip.
  2. Source check. An editor finds the official source: the provider’s own website, its official social account, or its advertisement. Only official sources count.
  3. Fact match. Every key fact is matched to the source: deadlines, who can apply from Pakistan, what it pays, fees, any service bond, and the apply link. The apply link must be on the provider’s registered official domain.
  4. Second review. A second editor checks the same facts. A listing is not marked “Verified” until two people have checked it.
  5. Publish. The listing goes live with its verification record: date, editor, method and an archived copy of the source.
  6. Daily monitoring. We watch official sources for changes and act on reader reports.
  7. Re-check. Open and closing-soon listings are re-checked every 7 days, upcoming ones every 14 days, and closed ones every 30 days.

What counts as an official source

  • The provider’s own website (for example a university, HEC, a provincial endowment fund or a foreign government).
  • An official advertisement in a newspaper, which we keep a scan of.
  • The provider’s verified social media account.
  • A phone call or email from the provider, using contact details from its official website.

Blogs, WhatsApp forwards, Facebook groups and other scholarship websites are never treated as sources.

What the labels mean

  • ✓ Verified [date]: two editors checked this listing against its official source on that date.
  • Official partner: the provider sends us updates directly. We still check them.
  • Update pending: the source changed and we’re re-checking.
  • Closed: applications are closed. The page stays up with the next expected opening.
  • Scam alert: there is a known fake version of this program.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t guarantee eligibility, admission, funding or visas. Only the provider decides.
  • We don’t charge students to see any listing or official link.
  • We don’t take money from agents or consultants, and we don’t list their services.

How we make money

Scholarship pages carry no ads. Guides may carry clearly labelled ads and links to test-preparation courses, and ads from agents, consultants and visa services are blocked. If a university pays to feature a listing, it is labelled “Sponsored” and checked exactly like every other listing.
